Inspiration for Amina
Being a new artist, you struggle with what and how to paint, and that was the biggest issue for me before this piece was created. Amina is my niece, my one and only. She is the closet thing that I have to a daughter, and she is beautiful to me in everyway. This particular photograph of was taken at 6 months and is my favorite picture of her and I always wanted to capture it in a more intricate and personal way. This piece also allowed me to integrate some of my graphic design techniques into the composition, which is the explanation for the sort of vectored or internal shapes you see inside the piece. Regardless of what I go on to paint, this piece will forever be my favorite.
