Artist Inspiration for Bubbles
Painting inspires me to experiment and discover ways to express the most interesting thoughts that go through my mind. The actual physical part of painting is most enjoyable to me. I like moving paint, layering it, scraping it, taping it, and trying new techniques. The whole process ends when I can’t think of another thing to do that would add a desirable aspect to the canvas. And then I start another one.
I am a professional textile designer working in the automotive industry since 1983. My education is in the fine arts with painting as one of my majors. I got back to my painterly beginnings in January, 2009 when I participated in a painting workshop in the Russell Industrial Center, Detroit, Michigan. I head to the studio after a day of automotive textile design which makes my day job one of the most influential aspects of my paintings.
