Inspiration for Fashionable Ladies
Fashionable Ladies was inspired by a black and white 1956 vintage Sears and Roebuck women’s fashion catalog. The dresses depicted are derived from the catalog, however the female figures are contemporary models that were drawn from direct observation in my studio.
Artist’s Biography
Sarah Weber received both her Bachelors of Fine Arts Painting (2004) and Masters of Fine Arts Painting Degree from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2007. She is currently teaching figure drawing classes at Kendall College in Grand Rapids, MI.
Her paintings have been displayed in several galleries nationally including: Walker Fine Arts Gallery, Denver, CO; Lana Santorelli Gallery, New York, NY; Infusion Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Altered Aesthetics Gallery, Minneapolis, MN and The Shoe Factory Gallery, Rochester, NY.
