Process Statement
His current work consists of shaped panel that made out of MDF and Masonite boards. The perimeter of the desired shape is then drawn out and cut out with a jig saw. Once the resulting shape has been routed out to reduce the weight, the edges are sanded and the surfaced primed and prepared for painting. The entire surface is painted in a neutral grey tone and then the linear elements are drawn on in an enamel wash. Once the layout is complete, then the process of breaking the large shape down and making color decisions begins. The pieces that are reproduced in the City Streets exhibition range in size from a 48” diameter for What You Say?! to a span of over 7 feet for Phoenix Plume.
